This is a Brazilian Peaberry roasted to a medium-light level that offers flavors of milk chocolate, caramel and orange.  This is our original Single Origin Roast that offers an extra smooth cup with a sweet finish.
 
Peaberry is actually a deformity that was once looked down on, but has since become a specialty.  Each normal coffee berry has two seeds inside and those seeds are what we know as coffee beans.  But most of the time 5%-10% of each crop grows atypical and only has one seed, that seed is what is known as a peaberry.
 
We roasted this in homage to all the field workers and farm locals in Brazil.  They use to have the honor of keeping the Peaberry as most exporters considered it trash because of the deformity.  But thanks to those locals and the passion put into roasting, they learned that the Peaberry bean is definitely not trash.  And actually has the potential to produce a smoother and sweeter cup of coffee.
